One of my many passions is helping guitar players get the most out of their instruments! I specialize in setups, maintenance, and playability. As a performing player myself combined with my technical experience in the mechanical trades, I offer a level of precision and attention to detail that I've become accustom to providing through my work in the aerospace industry. 

It's my opinion that most guitars can be made to play well and sound their best with just a few minor adjustments and some regular maintenance. The trick is knowing what adjustments need to be made and having a precise way to measure them to achieve your desired goal. I have that knowledge, experience and mechanical skillset, plus the tools and equipment to dial in your guitar making it play the best it can.

Unlike other techs that have a one size fits all approach to setup work, I work directly with you and your playing style to achieve the ultimate setup for you. Your input is important to me and I do my best to give you exactly what you're after. 

All work is performed at my home in Pontiac Michigan.

Setups Include: 

  • Fretboard cleaning and conditioning
  • Fret polishing
  • Setting proper neck relief
  • Setting bridge and saddle height (action)
  • Nut slot cleaning and lube (adjustment to nut slots as needed to achieve proper string height over the first fret)
  • Electronics testing, clean and lube pots and jacks
  • Check and tighten all tuning machines, pots, and jacks as needed 
  • Restring and set intonation
  • Clean entire instrument with appropriate cleaner for applied finish

*Starting at $65 for 6 string acoustics and $75 for electric 6 string and bass

Extras or add-ons:

  • Fret leveling
  • Pickup installs
  • Tuner installs
  • Electronic swaps or installs including pots, jacks, and switches
